Bands and Players featured in 2010

January: All swing jams--no featured bands

Duke City Jazz Band impresario Bill Biffle

February: Our annual Mardi Gras celebration featured five trad jazz/Dixieland bands. (Bet you didn't know New Mexico had that many!) The roster: Jazz a la Carte, the Duke City Jazz Band, the ABQ Jazz Band, Jere Corlett and friends from the Santa Fe Chiles, and the Route 66 Revelers.

April 18: The New Mexico Jazz Workshop Community Big Band

August 29: Swingfest! This special event went over well in 2009, so we did it again! No jams, just dancing all afternoon to several swing groups:

  • Bo Whitaker (vocals), with musicians Kent Erickson (trumpet), Deck Trask (alto sax), Mickey Patton (bass), Bob Delich (drums), and Bill Weisz (piano)
  • The Bill Weisz quartet featuring Arlen Asher on reeds, Jay Blea (drums), and Colin Deuble (bass)
  • The Doug Mulligan Quartet with Doug on drums, Paul Gonzales (trumpet), Bob Doering (piano), and Boyd Poulsen (bass)

September 19: Patti Littlefield and Friends

October 17:The Route 66 Revelers rocked the hall again.

November 21: Pianorama! Several pianists who regularly appear at the jams (Bob Banks, Bob Doering, Don Rood, and Bill Weisz) rotated through the 1:30-2:20 featured group time.

December: Prestige, the Manzano High show choir, made its always entertaining annual appearance.
